Dnipro-1 vs Apollon Match Preview

SC Dnipro 1 hosts Apollon Limassol in Slovakia in the fifth round of the fifth group of the Conference League.

The home side are coming off a 0-1 away win over Metalist which kept them at the top of the table in the Ukrainian league and hopefully completed nine games unbeaten in all competitions. Despite a bad start to the season where they had two defeats in the UEFA Europa League against AEK Larnaca, the Ukrainians have improved significantly and in the UEFA Conference League, they are second-placed in the group having scored seven goals and conceded five. At least three goals have been scored in five of their six European games, indicative of the way they compete.

The visitors, on the other hand, come from a painful 1-1 away draw in the last minute against Olympiakos Nicosia for the Cypriot league. They are a team that easily scores and concedes goals while many of their matches are stuck at 1-1. In addition, the Limassolians have scored in six of their eight games in Europe, something they can do against Dnipro as well.

Taking into account all the above, I expect both teams to score since Apollon must take risks to get the victory that will allow them to hope for qualification. I will stake 5 units on the over 2.5 goals alternative at 1.98 odds.
