Ferencvaros vs Monaco Match Preview

Ferencvaros hosts Monaco in the fifth matchday of the eighth group of the UEFA Europa League.

The hosts are coming off a 2-4 away win over Puskas Academy which boosted their morale after the two unsuccessful league and cup results that followed the big European win over Red Star. This victory brought them to first place in the group with three points difference from third-placed Monaco, while they also lead the race in the domestic league having also two games in hand.

The visitors, on the other hand, are coming off a 4-3 away defeat against Lille thus reaching three consecutive games without a win in all competitions confirming the bad form they are in. On their last trip, they lost in Turkey 4-0 to Trabzonspor while the Hungarians beat them in France 0-1. In the domestic league, they are seventh-placed having a mediocre season so it will be difficult for them to win in Hungary.

Taking into account all the above, I expect Ferencvaros to defend strongly and strike on the counter, something that was also achieved in France in a style that suits them since Monaco is often wasteful in the offense.
