Gent vs Molde Match Preview

Gent hosts Molde in the sixth and final matchday of the fifth group in the UEFA Europa Conference League.

The hosts are coming off two 1-1 draws at Leuven (Belgian League) and Shamrock (UEFA Europa Conference League) paying for their several injury absences. The Belgians could qualify for the next stage of the competition only with a win, otherwise, their Norwegian opponents will retain second place. Gent in this group managed to beat Shamrock at home and draw away, something they also did in the opener in Norway.

On the other hand, the visitors are coming off a big 4-1 away win over Viking, reaching fifteen straight wins in the domestic league winning the title quite easily since they are eighteen points ahead of Bodo Glimt. In Europe, they have lost both games against Djurgården by the same score 3-2 so they remained on seven points after beating Shamrock twice and drawing against Gent.

Considering all the above, I expect Molde to have more freshness since they have mathematically won the domestic league and are just keeping strength aiming for European qualification. The home team is in a slump with a lot of absences so I will stake 3 points on double chance X2 at 1.85 odds which I consider pretty decent given the circumstances.
