Leeds vs Arsenal Match Preview

For the 11th matchday of the English Premier League, Leeds welcomes Arsenal at Elland Road.

Another bad result for Leeds recently, in the previous round they were defeated in London by Crystal Palace 2-1. They were better in the first half, during which they took the lead, but still, they went to the locker rooms having conceded the equaliser. In the second half, their performance declined and conceded another goal. Finally they didn't take anything from the match.

This was the 5th game in a row for Leeds without a three-pointer and they have slipped in 14th place in the Premier League having 9 points.

Arsenal continues to impress, last weekend they won the big derby against Liverpool 3-2.They started the match furiously and scored almost with the first minute. In the 34th minute they conceded the equalizer but were lucky in the injury time of the first half to take the lead again. In the second half, they conceded the equalizer again but, being better, scored the winner in the 76th minute from the penalty spot.

Thus, they registered their 8th victory in 9 matches and lead the race with 24 points, one more than Manchester City and Tottenham who beat Everton yesterday. On Thursday night, Arsenal prevailed 1-0 in Norway over Bodo Gimt for the UEFA Europa League having a much rotated squad, and virtually secured the qualification to the next stage of the competition. 

Leeds have not been in good form lately as they are winless for 5 games and will be looking for a positive result tonight. Arsenal, for their part, are in terrific condition and are going from win to win in European and domestic competitions. Both like to play offensive football and I reasonably expect something similar in this match. I'll pick the Over 2.5 goals alternative at 1.65 odds.
