Napoli vs Liverpool Match Preview

Napoli host Liverpool in their UEFA Champions League group stage opener.

The hosts are coming off a 1-2 away win over Lazio, with an overturn after they found themselves behind in the fourth minute. They have started the season very well with three wins and two draws in the Italian Serie A and are looking to maintain their unbeaten run in European competition as well. An ally in their effort is the recent tradition since in the last four years they beat Liverpool twice in Italy with 1-0 and 2-0.

The visitors, on the other hand, gave a lot of strength in their last match in the local derby against Everton but remained at 0-0. This has resulted in them closing the gap on leaders Arsenal to six points but they are already enough as in six games Liverpool has a record of just two wins and three draws. With the exception of the 9-0 win over Bournemouth and the recent game against Everton, they have found themselves behind on the scoresheet in all their other matches. Several injuries are affecting Liverpool which is evident as they lack many quality solutions in every position.

Taking into account all the above, I expect the hosts, Napoli, with the support of their enthusiastic audience, to make it difficult for the English side for another year. As I cannot rule out a draw here, I will settle for the 1X double chance staking 3 units at 1.89 odds which I consider pretty decent.
