Paraguay vs Argentina Match Preview

Paraguay welcomes Argentina to the Defensores del Chaco for the 2022 World Cup qualifiers in the South American group.

After the 1-1 draw vs Colombia, Paraguay beat Venezuela 2-1, playing again at home. Two results that have kept them on a qualifying track. They are in sixth place with 11 points with the top five being just two points away. Against Argentina, Paraguay will have to give its best in order to get something good. And there is optimism on the Paraguayan side.

A. Espínola, H. Martínez and B. Riveros were left out of the squad due to injuries. Carscar Romero and A. Sanabria will form their offensive line. Their upcoming games are away against Chile and Bolivia.

On the other hand, Argentina got another victory in the group, 3-0 over Bolivia with three goals by L. Messi who has taken the 'albiseleste' from the hand and drive them with absolute safety in the final stage of Qatar. Their main target is to secure the second place in the group. After rounds played, they remain undefeated having five wins and three draws.

In the upcoming games, they will host Uruguay and Peru in Buenos Aires. Coach Lionel Scaloni will use his best players tonight, with L. Messi, L. Martinez, and Di Maria being the attacking trio at 4-3-3. P. Dybala is out of action due to injury.
