Racing Club vs Lanus Match Preview

Racing Club and Lanus meet in Cylindro for the 23rd game of the Argentine championship.

Racing Club after the 0-1 home defeat by Colon suffered a crash in Monumental last match by the champion River Plate with 4-0. Things in the 'academy' are not good at all as the many negative results have brought them fighting in these last games for the entry in the first eleven of the championship which leads to the next Copa Sudamricana.

On the positive side for today's match is the return of defender L. Sigali, on the other hand, goalkeeper G. Arias remains out after a serious knee injury.

Lanus are going to blow up what good they did all year. After the 3-2 defeat by Patronato Parana away, came the 3-3 draw in Fortaleza with Platense. Now they need victories in the last games to be placed in the top four. With three points they lock their participation in the Copa Sudamericana.

The distance from the spots that lead in the next Copa Liberdadores is only two points. T. Belmonte and N. Thaller were left out of the squad for the game against Racing due to cards, while B. Aguirre overcame his injury and returns. For the next match they host Rosario Central.

Racing are trying to recover and claim what they can in the last few games. On the other hand, Lanus want to return to victories in order to reach the top four. I expect a reaction from both teams in a game that will have many goals.
