Rangers vs PSV Match Preview

For the first leg of this UEFA Champions League playoffs match-up, Rangers welcomes PSV Eindhoven to the Ibrox Stadium in Glasgow.

Rangers' qualified with style to the playoffs of the competition, they beat Union St-Giloise 3-0 in Glasgow, overturning their 2-0 defeat in the first match in Belgium. They managed to score in stoppage time of the first half and with two more goals in the replay they completed the turnaround in their attempt to enter the group stage of the competition.

In the domestic league, Rangers easily beat St. Johnson 4-0, getting their 3rd win in as many matches.

PSV in the previous stage of the competition eliminated Monaco, after two exciting encounters. In the first match in France, they drew 1-1, while in the second leg they were down 2-1 in the 89th minute. However, they managed to equalize by sending the match to extra time and there they scored the "golden" goal that qualified them.

Last Saturday, for the domestic league, they defeated Go Ahead Eagles away from home by 5-2 having two wins in the first two matches of the Dutch Eredivisie.

I expect a close match between two strong teams. Rangers will rely on their hot home ground to get the result that will give them a qualification advantage. PSV, for their part, are not an easy opponent, having started the season impressively. Both have enough quality and score easily and I expect some goals in this match. My choice is the Over 2.5 goals alternative at 1.90 odds.
