Real Madrid vs Atl. Madrid Match Preview

Real Madrid welcomes Atletico Madrid at Santiago Bernabeu for the 25th matchday of the Spanish La Liga.

An important victory for Real the previous matchday, despite the many missings in their squad, they prevailed 2-0 over Osasuna away from home. In the first half, it was difficult to break through the defensive approach of the hosts, in the second half, however, they stepped up and in the end, they were rewarded by scoring the winning goals in the last quarter.

So Real got their second consecutive victory in the league and continues to be in 2nd place in the standings with 51 points, 8 less than league leaders, Barcelona.

Atlético Madrid also comes from victory, last Sunday they beat Athletic Bilbao 1-0. It was a difficult victory as offensively they had the most chances but without scoring, while defensively saw their opponent create their own good moments. They were finally lucky enough to score the winner in the last quarter of the match, a goal that was enough for them to grab all three points.

With this victory, they extended their unbeaten streak for a 6th match – 4 wins and 2 draws – and at the end of the matchday, Atlético Madrid was in 4th place having 41 points.

This is the traditional big Madrid derby. Real go into the match in a high-flying mood high after their midweek victory and targets another one to keep them in the title race. Atlético, for their part, comes from positive results that keep them within the target of the top four. Real Madrid is superior, having the home advantage and the first say in this match. My choice is the victory of the home side at 1.80 odds.
