A comfortable win

It was a tough game vs Mainz, but Dortmund took deservedly all the points (1-2). With this result they keep standing in the first place of Bundesliga, having 4 points more than second-placed Mοnchengladbach. Actually, the most important is their nine-points difference from Bayern Munich, the main title contenders before the start of Bundesliga. As for the Champions League, although they lost to Atletico in the previous round, they still kept the h2h goal average and they are the favorites for the first place of the group. Injured left-back Μ.Schmelzer is still out.

Club Brugge took 4 points from their two games vs Monaco, probably enough to secure the 3rd place of this group. To qualify for the last 32 in Europa League was their realistic goal in this tough group, definitely Borussia Dortmund and Atletico Madrid are in a different level from the Belgians. Their bad strike in their domestic league was continued last weekend as their didn’t win for one more round. The 1-3 home loss vs Zulte-Waregem kept them in the 3rd place of the table. There are quite a few missings for the visitors, especially in the front half of the field, J.Vossen, A.Groeneveld, K.Diatta and E.Dennis are all out tonight, as well as defender D.Cools.

Dortmund has a great chance tonight to secure their qualification, most possibly combined with the first place of this group, as they are better in h2h vs Atletico Madrid. Club Brugge are surely in a lower level than the Vestfalians, I cannot imagine how they could be competitive in this one. A comfortable home win, with a minimum two goals difference is expected here for Dortmund.
