Excelsior's performance was quite tricky this season. Although they scored 9 goals in the last two rounds of the Eredivisie and it could be assumed that they will beat easily Waalwijk (a team that finished in the 8th place of the second division in Netherlands), they surprisingly suffered a 2-1 loss in the first leg of these playout games.
On the contrary, Waalwijk were great and if they were more concentrated, they could have got a clear score to be safer in this second leg that they will play on the road.
