Adelaide United vs Newcastle Jets Match Preview

Adelaide United face Newcastle Jets at Coopers Stadium for the 21st round of the Australian A-League.

Adelaide United continues to underperform, facing a heavy 1-5 home defeat in the previous round against Western United. Their performance was poor and they  deservedly conceded so many times.

After their last three unsuccessful results they dropped a few places in the standings. Now they are sitting in the sixth place of the table with 27 points, alongside Western United and their main targetis to remain in the play-off zone.

Ben Halloran recovered from his injury and returns today fully fit. A difficult away match will follow against Melbourne City next week, and today they will seek only for a victory.

On the other hand, Newcastle Jets have improved lately. In the previous round, they won 2-1 at home against Perth Glory, while they remain undefeated for five consecutive games.

They are quite improved, but a top-six spot looks like a dream for them at the moment, as their many negative results at the beginning of the championship have left them behind.

Roy O'donovan is available for tonight's game. On the other hand, the injured defender Jackson Lachlan, as well as midfielder Kantarovski Ben, remain unavailable.

I expect Adelaide United to play only for the victory today and they will probably manage to win against weak Newcastle Jest.
