Adelaide United vs Western United Match Preview

Adelaide United face Western United at the Coopers Stadium for the 20th round of the Australian A-League. 

Adelaide United after their great home win 2-0 against Central Coast Mariners, failed to get anything positive on the next two rounds, as they faced a heavy 5-2 defeat against Sydney Saunders and another 2-1 by Melbourne Victory. In the match against Melbourne, they managed to take the lead and had great chances to score a second goal, but finally, the superiority of Melbourne Victory prevailed.

After these two unsuccessful results, the dropped a few ranks in the standings, and now they are 6th-placed, trying to reach a playoff spot. There's a second home match coming up against Newcastle Jets in the next week. 

Western United prevailed 6-2 over the weak Central Coast Mariners. After this outcome they have a 3-point difference from the sixth place where their current opponents sit. They are going to fight for a playoff spot, but the competition is high and it's not gonna be an easy task for them.

They totally prevailed in the field against Mariners, and this win brought optimism and motivation to the team, but that's not enough. The injured Panagiotis Kone, as well as the Greek defender Aspropotamitis, are unavailable. There's a second consecutive away match coming up, against Perth Glory, in the next week.

Adelaide United have the upper hand and the advantage of playing at home to win this match. Today they have the chance to increase their difference to six points from their opponents, in the battle for a spot for the playoffs. The home win is my call in this one.
