An early crisis

Although Asteras did their best in their opening game that took place at Faliro, they eventually suffered a 1-0 loss to Olympiakos. Their hosts opened the scoreline early in the first half and as time went by, they missed a couple of chances to level thagame. The fact that they performed with many newcomers was really encouraging and gave hopes for the future.

AEK surprisingly suffered a 2-1 loss to Xanthi in OAKA last week. Their performance was mediocreffrom the beginning, but when they stood with a man less from the 34th minute, things got worse. Xanthi took advantage of it and their effective counterattacks led to this huge win. Still, that was the final call for the Portugal Miguel Cardoso who isn't on their he bench anymore. Nikos Kostenoglou is AEK's caretaker from now on. On Thursday, they registered a 2-0 win over Trabzonspor in Turkey for the second leg of Europa League playoffs. However, they didn't qualify since they had suffered a 3-1 loss in OAKA in the first leg.

Asteras were incredible in the opening game but they still time to show their team-work. On the other hand, AEK were quite disappointing against Xanthi and that triggered an inside upset. If the guests perform the same manner with the midweek game, they can get the three-pointer in Tripoli. AEK to win is my call.
