An impressive start

Based on their good start, Montpellier are on the 3th place of Ligue 1, having 22 points after 11 rounds. In their most recent league game they beat 3-0 Toulouse, an away game that they were superior during the whole 90 minutes. Before that, they had won 2-0 Bordeaux away, completing 3 consecutive wins for Ligue 1 in Mosson, without conceding a single goal. In the midweek game for League Cup, M. Der Zakarian made 8/11 changes in the starting line compared with the league game in Toulouse. The elimination came normaly, with the noisy 0-3. Midfielder K.Dolly is still injured, while central defender Pedro Mendes is suspended, he was sent off on Tuesday's game.

It was a difficult game for Marseille the previous round against first-placed Paris Saint Germain. They were very competitive until 45', but in the second half, Mbappe came in and contributed significantly to the final 2-0 and their 12 concecutive win. That result sent Marseille in 5th place of the table and now they need the win to get back to the first 4 and win a ticket for the next season's European tournaments. Team's first scorer F.Thauvin, who performed for more than an hour vs PSG, is 100% fit and will be in the first eleven.

Montpellier are the pleasant surprise of Ligue 1 this year and if they keep up on this pace, they can claim for a place in the upcoming Champions League. They registered 10 games without a loss in Ligue 1 and it's more than deserved for them to be in the first 3 spots of the table. Marseille are great too, especially their attacking line who have the 2nd best performance, after first-placed Paris Saint Germain, howener their defensive problems are realistic. They've conceded 18 goals so far, this is a quite big number for a team who want to stay high and definitevely they have to shift this trend. I think that the offered odds are overpriced for Montpellier. In my opinion they should be the favorites in a home game against a lower-placed team. Home win will be my call.
