Angers - Lyon Match Preview

In this match of the French League, Angers will play at home against Lyon.

Angers is by far the worst team in the league. In 24 rounds played so far this team managed to win in only twice. They are last-placed, 8 points behind Ajaccio, who is one spot above them. Relegation is almost certain if things do not drastically change. Angers is without a win in the league for 16 matches in a row.

Lyon is not the team that was dominant in France for years. Still, they should have too much strength for their rivals here. They started playing better since the start of 2023 but the last-round defeat against Auxerre was a very disappointing result. Lacazette is their best player, and he could return and play in the match. With or without him, Lyon is still the big favorite.

The last time these two played in Ligue 1, Lyon won with ease 5:0. Angers is in the worst form possible and cannot even win against much worse teams than Lyon. The away win is my pick in this one.
