Apollon Smyrnis vs Atromitos Match Preview

Apollon Smyrnis faces Atromitos for the 22nd round of the Greek Super League.

After getting the three points in the match against Larisa, three consecutive defeats followed for Apollon Smyrnis, facing two of the strongest teams in the Greek Super lEague, Olympiakos and Aris, while in the third one, they lost over Lamia. In the previous round, they shared points with PAOK, actually, they got very close to return to winning ways, as they were leading 2-1 till PAOK equalize at the 88th minute.

Atromitos, on the other hand, comes also from consecutive negative results, registering 2 defeats with the same score (2-3) at home. The first defeat came in the Greek Cup against Pas Giannina and they failed to get a ticket to the quarter-finals. In the other match for the league, they lost against Panathinaikos and lost any realistic hope to enter the play-off zone for this season. 

Considering the recent performances and the shape of the two sides, I think the hosts can win this one. Apollon Smyrnis is 8 points away from Lamia who is second from the bottom, but their opponents have played two games less so far, so it is possible for them to climb a few more ranks if they get a positive result.
