Aris vs Ionikos Match Preview

Aris welcomes Ionikos at Kleanthis Vikelidis for the 15th round of the Greek Super League.

Aris has four consecutive decent performances after their embarrassing 0-5 home defeat to PAS Giannina. Akis Matzios' team triumphed 0-1 on the road in the local derby vs city rivals PAOK followed by a home win with the same score vs in-form Asteras Tripolis. Two demanding road games followed, they lost 1-0 to league leaders Olympiacos and played a draw in Irakleio vs strong OFI (1-1).

It's worth mentioning that Aris carries a six-point deduction from the beginning of the season so every three-pointer has great value for them in their effort to reach a top-six spot in the regular season.

Ionikos continues to impress and it seems very difficult to have relegation troubles till the end of the season. Playing in front of their fans they have managed to prevail over both Thessaloniki's teams, Aris and PAOK. Aris is definitely the favorite here, but we have to keep in mind that they are not a high-scoring side. My pick here is the under 2.5 goals alternative, I expect a close match between two sides that have mainly a defensive orientation.
