AS Roma vs Feyenoord Match Preview

AS Roma has had a great campaign to reach the final and they are also the favorites to win the trophy by almost all the bookies. They won against Vitesse 0-1 on the road and then drew at home 1-1 which gave them a ticket for the quarter-finals where they faced again Bodo/Glimt. After losing the first leg 2-1 they made a big 4-0 come back at home to secure a spot in the semifinals. There, they faced Leicester but still after a 1-1 draw on the road they managed to win 1-0 at home.

The team has responded quite well to Mourinho, especially in the last few months. Even in the domestic league, they secured a spot in the Europa League for the next season so here they play just for the trophy and not to secure their ticket for next season's Europa League. Abraham has been leading their attack with 29 goals in all competitions being the best scorer in his first season for Roma. Also, Zaniolo is supposed to play here if not from the start at least in the second half.

Feyenoord, on the other side, did also quite a good job as they started in the knock-out stage with Partizan demolishing them 5-2 on the road and 3-1 at home. A tougher task when they faced Slavia Prague where after a 3-3 draw at home they managed to snatch a 3-1 win on the road and by this securing a spot in the semi-finals. There, they faced Marseille where after a 3-2 win in the first leg they were lucky enough to hold a 0-0 draw on the road and this gave them the final.

In their attack, there has been a dualism between Dessers 10 goals - 2 assists, and Sinisterra 6 goals - 4 assists. The problem with them, I guess, is their defensive side as they have conceded a total of nine goals during the six games played which means more than a goal per game and in a final duel, even a single goal is very important.

In conclusion, I think Roma can win this match or get at least a draw and then try to win the trophy in extra time. They are the more experienced team and with a coach like Mourinho, I guess they will not lose during regular time. Their rivals failed to keep a clean sheet in five out of six games played after the group stage and I really think this could be a key factor here.
