Aston Villa vs Watford Match Preview

In the previous round, Aston Villa drew against Brighton on the road, a result that can be considered as positive for them. They stood behind in the scoreline just before the end of the halftime, however, the found the back of the net in the second half, despite the fact that the hosts continued having the possession of the ball. After the equalizer at the 75th minute, Aston Villa kept the desired result, the truth is that they didn't get any great pressure from the hosts.

They are now placed 18th in the standings, with just one point behind their today's rivals, marginally outside of the relegation zone. Striker Konjjija is doubtful since he has not recovered yet, goalkeeper Heaton, midfielder McGinn and the attackers Davis and Wesley are definitely out tonight.

Watford managed to draw last Saturday against Tottenham, a result that ended the three-game winning streak in Premier League for N. Pearson's side. In fact, the result could have been different for them, if the striker Deeney didn't miss the penalty kick at the 70th minute of the game.

Watford remains undefeated (4-2-0) in the last six rounds, meanwhile, they drew 3-3 against Tranmere for the FA Cup. Defender Kiko is doubtful for tonight's match, as well as striker Welbeck.  Defender Janmaat, midfielder Cleverley and Hughes, as well as the striker Sarr, are definitely unavailable tonight.

A crucial game will take place tonight at the Vicarage Road, as both teams are fighting for a place in next season's Premier League. However, the performance of Watford in their recent games (they remain undefeated since the arrival of N. Pearson) drives me to wager on the away win. I expect Watford to win this game, or at least, not to lose it. The away win DNB is my call.
