Atalanta - Sampdoria Match Preview

On Monday only one match of Serie A is on schedule. That is a match between Atalanta and Sampdoria which will be played at Gewiss Stadium in Bergamo. I predict a win for the home team.

Atalanta was impressive in both matches played in Europe League against Olympiakos. They dismantled 0-3 the Greek Champions in Piraeus. Now they can focus on Italian Serie A. They are in fifth place being 6 points behind Juventus who holds that last spot for next season's Champions League. But Atalanta has two games in hand. They are not in good form but that performance against Olympiakos surely gives their fans something to hope for. Once again they will be without Duvan Zapata but still they proved that they can win even without him.

Sampdoria is in 15th place in Serie A. Only last placed team, Salernitana, has more defeats than them. Sampdoria lost in 14 matches so far and Salernitana in 16. They are not playing well on the road and have lost four matches in a row. They managed to score only one goal in those four away matches and conceded seven. Though Atalanta misses some of the players it will be hard for Sampdoria to resist them if they continue playing like this.

Though home side is not is good form at their Gewiss Stadium this is a perfect match for them to end their four-match winless streak in the league in Bergamo. They played already once this season in Genoa and Atalanta won 3:1 that match.
