Atletico Madrid vs Liverpool Match Preview

Atletico Madrid had a difficult task against Valencia last weekend, however, the final 2-2 was the deserved result. The "Rohiblankos" took the lead twice, but the home team managed to find the back of the net equal number of times.

After this outcome, D. Simeone's team are 4th-placed in La Liga, alongside Seville and certainly they target to a ticket for next season's Champions League. This is their main goal for the rest of the season.

Right-back Tripper remains sidelined, as well as midfielder Herrera. However, their biggest problem remains in the offensive line, since it is unknown whether D. Costa had returned fully fit after his three-month injury, while J. Felix and A. Morata are doubtful.

There are no injury problems for the guests, only the second choice midfielder Shaqiri is missing.

Atletico Madrid are not in great shape lately, with the main problem being at their offensive line. I expect a quite defensive approach from the hosts, as they know that if they do not concede tonight, they can hope for a qualification. On the other hand, Liverpool have the advantage of playing the 2nd leg in Anfield, a difficult home ground for every European team. 

I am expecting a quite defensive approach from Atletico Madrid in a quite close game. Under 2.5 goals is my call in this one.
