Augsburg vs Dortmund Match Preview

Augsburg is ranked at the 4th place with three points after winning their opener against Union Berlin with a 3-1 result. It was a good start for them, considering how they ended the past season where they barely managed to avoid relegation. Before the league game they had an easy task in the DFB Pokal, winning 7-0 against an amateur team.

Ten goals in two games but I still sense trouble ahead of them for this duel, as they always failed to win the first two consecutive games in the league. Not just this, but in the previous season they lost both games against Dortmund with results like 5-1 and 5-3.

Dortmund, on the other side, is ranked at the third spot with three points as they won the first game against Monchengladbach with a 3-0 results. Before that, they had won 5-0 in the DFB Pokal against Duisburg. Two official games and they scored eight goals from which Haaland scored two, but this is not something new for them.

The most positive thing is that they managed to keep a clean sheet showing a solid defensive side. Adding Meunier to the team surely has helped as he is a very experienced player. Once again Haaland and Sancho are expected to be on their offensive lineup considering Reus is still not fully fit.

In conclusion, I think Dortmund can win this match. They come in a very good form and seem just too much to handle right now for Augsburg. They won three of the last five duels on the road against them. Augsburg has done well to win these first two games, but the rivals they faced were nowhere to what they have to deal with now. I do not see how they can stop Dortmund here.
