Barcelona vs Elche Match Preview

At Camp Nou, Barcelona will be playing against Elche for the Spanish La Liga. The match referee will be Rojas.

Barcelona are in eighth place currently, they have collected a total of 24 points from 16 games. This is their worse season in many years. I think this is the effect of being dependent on Messi for so many years.

Barcelona have lost two out of the last ten games played at full time. Xavi replaced Ronald Koeman in the middle of the season as Barcelona's head coach but till now he hasn't shown anything big. However, this game seems easy for Barcelona. 

Elche are just two places above the relegation zone, actually they are only two pointsoff the zone. Elche have lost all their last five head-to-head meetings against Barcelona. 

Bigas and Monica would be unavailable for Elche as both are injured.

Barcelona were dumped out of the Champions League in the group stage, but this might help them in the league as pressure would ease a bit. They are in the Europa League and the other advantage is that Europa League wouldn't be played till February, so they have a good chance to concentrate solely on their domestic league.

Elche would find really hard playing away from home and playing at Camp Nou against Barcelona is even harder. I expect Barcelona to start well in this game and lead at the break. Odds for HT 1 look good and are worth going with.
