'Battle' for the third place

France won 1-0 Belgium, in a not very spectacular game, where France had the upper hand almost during the whole match. They were the only team that scored and deservely got the desirable qualification to the big final. Belgium made their efforts till the end, but didn't manage to score. It might be what is heard from most of the people, that they aren't 'that big' to win in such tournaments. Beside this, it is out of the question that Roberto Martinez's team consist of great and talented players. 

On the other hand, England took the lead early vs Croatia, when Kieran Trippier scored a goal with a free kick. They seemed to rest on this 1-0 as the time was passing 'betting' on Balkans' fatigue ,as they had already played two games in extra time against Denmark and Russia. However this never happened, as Croatians worked their socks off in the second half and tied when Ivan Perisic scored at 68'. After this they controled the game and missed some good chances to score again. Finally they did it, but in extra time, with Mario Mandzukic's goal at 109'. Since then, English made some efforts but it was too late.

This game for the 3rd place is surely a disapointment for both teams. It is quite possible players who didn't play that much in the tournament, to participate in this game. Belgians are more qualitative and have more individual experience, even their substitutes play at top European Championships teams. I will opt for Belgians at 2.26
