Bayer Leverkusen – Bayern Munich Match Preview

Bayern Leverkusen will host Bayern Munich in this German Bundesliga derby this Sunday.

Bayern Leverkusen changed their coach this season and their new coach is Xabi Alonso, a legendary player. They are playing better under Alonso and scoring more goals. Their defense is still a problem but results are getting better. Currently, they are in 9th place and they will try until the end to reach 6th or 5th position. They are still in the UEFA Europa League where they are through to the quarter-finals after prevailing against Ferencvaros.

Bayern is in first place with 2 points ahead of Dortmund. It will be interesting to see if Dortmund can challenge Bayern for the title as they are out of the Champions League and they can shift their focus to Bundesliga. Bayern looked really good in the last few matches as they have all of their players ready and they got a big signing this winter, the Portuguese Cancelo. In the first match this season against Bayer Leverkusen they won comfortably 4-0.

Bayer Leverkusen played earlier this week against Ferencvaros in Hungary and they had fewer days for rest as Bayern had full 7 days for rest which will be really important for this game. Bayern is in excellent form and the main problem for Leverkusen will be their defense. I expect them to have a hard time stopping Bayern, the best attack in the league, from scoring as they are making a lot of defensive mistakes.
