Birmingham vs Derby Match Preview

Birmingham is ranked at 17th place with 23 points and is having a bad moment as they come after a single win a draw and three losses over the last five matches. They were on a three-game losing streak before grabbing a goalless draw against Nottingham in their previous duel. Now, playing at home, they have to try and get back to winning ways.

They have scored 17 goals so far and in the last five matches they scored five goals averaging a goal per game and finding the back of the net in three occasions. At home ground they surprisingly have not done that good this season earning just eight points and scored at least a goal in three out of five duels.

Derby, on the other hand, is ranked at 22nd place with 16 points. They seem to have improved a lot under Rooney as they got two wins two draws and a loss over the last five matches. The recent loss was heavily influenced by that early red card by Waghorn which let them with ten men for more than 70 mins. Still, before that they were unbeaten for six games in a row while scoring five goals.

Now their morale is pretty high despite the last loss and they will try to make use of the bad moment their rivals are having. After all on the road they managed to punish them in each of the last five h2h games they had while also winning in three of them.

In conclusion, I think both teams can score at least a goal here. Birmingham was doing much better at the beginning but have dropped in form recently. They have got to improve their home performances and this has to be a start. Derby is showing better football currently and they are close to leave the relegation zone  so the motivation will be high to aim for a positive result here. Both teams scored at least a goal in four of the last five h2h games they had.
