Bolivia vs Ecuador Match Preview

In tonight's World Cup 2022 Qualifiers match, Bolivia face Ecuador for the 3rd round of the South American group. The match will be held at the Estadio Hernando Siles, La Paz.

Bolivia had a tough start in the group with two consecutive defeats, against Brazil 5-0 on the road and Argentina 1-2 at home. However, these results were quite expected for the Bolivians as the quality difference between them and the two South American powerhouses.

Tonight against Ecuador, Bolivia will seek their first three points in this group putting themselves into a positive run from now on. Usually, when Bolivia plays in La Paz performs well, and gets full advantage of their home field. They will play with the same formation under the manager Farias who counts a lot on his key players Moreno, Mario Cuéllar, and Boris Cespedes.

In the opening match of the group stage, Ecuador suffered a 1-0 defeat against Argentina, but in the second round, they managed to take their first win against Uruguay, rather comfortably. Alfaro's team entered the pitch in a strong manner playing very offensively, and before halftime, they had already a double lead. These three points were pretty deserved for Ecuador, who after an amazing performance reached comfortably at the final 4-2.

Now they have to face a strong opponent considering the difficult circumstances of playing in La Paz altitude, trying to grab at least a point. The visitors will play with no significant missings today.

Bolivia is searching for points aiming to bounce back in order to climb up a few spots in their group. On the other hand, the high altitude shouldn't be so much of an issue for Ecuador, however, it will be difficult for them to get a positive result from this match. Bolivia is a strong home side for almost all South American visitors. The home team to win covering the draw result seems a rather safe pick for this one.
