Brentford vs Manchester United Match Preview

For the 2nd matchday of the English Premier League, Brentford welcomes Manchester United.

Brentford got off to a positive start in this season's Premier League, in the opening game they drew 2-2 at home to Leicester. They may have been 2-0 down at the beginning of the second half, but they initially reduced the score in the 62nd minute and then put pressure on the hosts and they deservedly equalized just before the final whistle.

So apart from their first point, Brentford keep their positive attitude and the reaction they got when they fell behind in the score.

Now, in their first home match, the level of difficulty increases by facing a team that they have not beaten regardless of home or on the road since the very distant 1938!

Manchester United couldn't expect a worse start in the league, last week they were defeated at home by Brighton by 2-1. A poor performance in the first half with many defensive mistakes which they paid for as before the half time they were two goals down. In the second half, they reduced with an own goal but unfortunately, they could not achieve anything more.

This result has again brought to the fore the tension between the fans and the management of the team to the point where major protests are planned for the upcoming home derby against Liverpool.

Brentford in their opening game performed similarly to last season's very good team which was quite competitive and was not easy to defeat. United, for their part, have shed last year's troubles that brought a defeat that puts them under pressure from very early on. Both sides will be looking for a victory and I expect some goals here. My choice is Over 2.5 goals at 1.80 odds.
