Brisbane Roar vs Melbourne City

Brisbane Roar faces Melbourne City at Moreton Daily Stadium, Brisbane, for the 24th round of the Australian A-League.

Brisbane Roar took the win over Newcastle Jets in the previous round and climbed to 6th place at the table. They have 34 points two rounds before the end of the regular season, fighting for a playoff spot. It will be not at all an easy task for them today vs first-placed  Melbourne City and against WS Wanderers in the final round.

Melbourne City has already secured the title, winning 0-1 over Central Coast Mariners in the previous round. They have a seven-point margin from second-placed Sydney, having also a game in hand. Their manager Patrick Kisnorbo is not expected to rotate his team in the remaining games, even they have no need for points.

This is a one-sided game, only the hosts need the points to secure their play-off spot, finishing in the top-six. However, Melbourne City has the upper hand in this game and they do not plan to donate points to their opponents. I expect a quite open game with some goals. Over 2.5 goals to be scored is my final call.
