Brugge's motive leads the way

Gent's performance was quite disappointing in the final game of the Belgian Cup. Jess Thorup's team had a 'golden' chance to celebrate a trophy, as their opponent were Mechelen who performed in the second division of Belgium this year. However, they suffered a 2-1 loss and that disappointed and frustrated everyone in the team. Their performances at playoffs are also disappointing. They registered 5 defeats and a draw in 6 rounds, so they can't hope for a European spot. This, combined with the disappointment in the Cup, the team have to make their plans for the next season.

Brugge are still fighting for the title in the League. In the previous round, they won Anderlecht and that kept them 6 points away from the top of the table, so they can still have hopes for the fix place. However, second place, where they are sitting now, is a strong motive as it leads to Champions League qualifiers of the next season. They were superior to Anderlecht and the most important is that apart from the win, their performance was great again, after a long time.

I expect to see a shocked Gent, after the Cup lods, while Brugge have the quality and the experience to take advantage of it and take all the points they desperately want. The value is on the away win.
