Cagliari level up

Cagliari secured their place in the new season's Serie A in the last rounds last year. The summer transfer window, they made decent signings that make everyone in the Sardinian side to hope and to expect more. Their first goal is definitely to secure their place in Serie A, but anything more is more than welcomed. Rolando Maran is still on their bench. After the sale of Nicolo Barella to Inter, their made agreements with Nathan Nandez from Boca Juniors as well as Alberto Cerri, Marko Rog, Radja Nainggolan and Luca Pellegrini who are expected to upgrade the level of the team. Moreover, they registered a 2-1 win over Chievo Verona and qualified in the next stage of the Italian Cup. Marco Rog carries a suspension from the previous season so he won't perform in the opening game.  Nandez and Nainggolan are going to boost the team's midfield.

Brescia returned on the top level after nine years and their only target is to secure their stay in the Serie A. Eugenio Corini as well as the key players Alfredo Donnarumma and Sandro Tonali whose performance was valuable in the promotion of Brescia, renewed their contracts. Mario Balotelli is their 'famous' newcomer and is expected to score many goals. For the Italian Cup, they were eliminated from Perugia in extra time. Balotelli and Aleš Mateju are carrying their suspensions from the previous season, while Ernesto Torregrossa, Giangiacomo Magnani and Emanuele Ndoj are injured.

Cagliari have the potential this season to achieve something good. Their quality newcomers are expected to level up the team. Brescia are on track and they will fight to stay in the division. There are a lot of missings tonight that may cause them problems though. Cagliari to win in their opening game is my call.
