Cameroon – Egypt Match Preview

The hosts, Cameroon, will play against Egypt in the semifinal of the African Cup of Nations. These are the two best teams at the moment in Africa. I expect a great football show with some goals. The stakes are high but the hosts must go and try to win this from the start.

Cameroon has played the best football so far at AFCON. They did not lose a single match so far. They only drew with Cape Verde in the only match they did not win. In all of their matches so far at the tournament, more than two goals have been scored, in two out of those five matches we saw more than three goals. I expect them to give their 100%, their fans will be their 12th player. Aboubakar is the top scorer of their team and scored six goals so far, Toko Ekambo is their second-best goal scorer and he scored five. These two players will carry this team.

Egypt lost their first match against Nigeria and since that defeat, they had started playing much better. Mo Salah is in the team and he will be the biggest threat to Cameroon. Salah is one of the best strikers in the world and he can carry his nation by himself.

If Cameroon scores early Egypt will need to attack. They cannot defend for the whole match against a solid attack from Cameroon. These two teams have played in the final of AFCON in 2017 and that match was won by Cameroon 2-1. I expect a similar result in this semi-final.
