Cardiff vs Preston Match Preview

Cardiff is ranked at the 12th place with 7 points and comes after two wins a draw and two losses over the last five matches. It has been a decent start of the new season for them considering that in the last season they finished 18th. During preseason they had some good performances in the friendlies but once things got serious they have struggled to find consistency. Even in the EFL Cup they suffered a 0-3 loss at home against Portsmouth which is a team from League One. They have scored 3 goals so far where they scored in each of the first three duels but now have failed to find the back of the net in the most recent two. At home though they got two wins out of two games while scoring in each of them.

Preston on the other hand is ranked at the 9th place with 7 points and comes after a single win and four draws over the last five matches. The positive thing is that they are one of the few teams which are still unbeaten but if they want to fight for promotion they will need to start winning games. They have scored a single goal until now while in the four draws they ended up 0-0. But the way they are playing football has been way better offensively than the low number of goals suggests. They have been averaging 5 shots on goal per game so far and the fact they have been unlucky not to score more goals makes me think they will explode sooner or later.

In conclusion I think both teams can score a goal here. Cardiff being at home makes me feel confident will have another solid performance like they have done so far. They could be the first team to punish Preston for this season. Preston has got a very good team and their goal here is going to be to get their 2nd win of the season.
