Celje vs Molde Match Preview

Celje managed to win the previous game in the Champions League qualifiers as they got past Dundalk with a clear 3-0 win, but fell right after that, as they lost at home against Mura in the opening game in the domestic league.

Their win against Dundalk was pretty clear, but keeping in mind the poor form of Dundalk it was more than expected. It's worthwhileto mention that two of their goals were scored in the final five minutes, something that gives the wrong impression about how the game went. While it is true that Celje are the current champions in Slovenia, it seems that they are less solid than the team they used to be in the past season.

Molde, on the other hand, is doing much better in their own league. They are ranked at the second spot and come after three wins and two losses over the last five matches. In the previous stage of the qualifiers they had to face an inferior team like KuPS and they outclassed them with a 5-0 result. They made things pretty clear winning 2-0 in the first half and later scoref another three goals.

Despite being on the road here, I see Molde having higher chances to advance, not only because they are a better team with more quality players, but also because they are in a better physical shape as they are in the middle of the season while in Slovenia they just started now.

In conclusion, I think Molde can win this match or get at least a draw and go in overtime. Celje did good to get past Dundalk but things get tougher now that they face an more experienced team like Molde. Molde is the second best attack in their league averaging at least two goals per game and I expect this to be a big bonus for them.
