Charleroi vs Genk Match Preview

Charleroi is ranked at 11th place with 39 points but the distance with the Championship group is just four points, while the Europa League group a single point. The struggle is getting real with six weeks left and being one game short surely gives a lot of options to Charleroi. They come after a single win three draws and a loss over the last five matches.

With 40 goals scored so far they have the second-best attack from the bottom half teams and in the last five matches  they have scored a total of eight goals, managing to find the back of the net in each duel. At home they have been quite average this season, winning only five out of 12 matches but the time has come to step up their game.

Genk, on the other hand, is ranked at 3rd place with 43 points and comes in a very bad run after a single win a draw and three consecutive losses over the last five matches. Like I said the teams are sitting pretty tight next to each other on both the Championship and Europa League groups, so another defeat here would almost certainly see them out of the top four.

With 52 goals scored so far they have the second best attack in the league and in the last five matches scored a total of six goals. Despite the negative results they managed to find the back of the net in four occasions. Onuachu is on fire with 23 goals so far and is expected to play alongside Bongonda, a duo that has scored 35 goals until now.

In conclusion, I think both teams can score at least a goal here. Charleroi has got to try and make use of the bad moment their rivals are experiencing to capitalize with a probable win which would send them up in ranks. At home they have scored in four of the last five matches across all competitions. Genk has suffered the worst losing streak this season and I expect them to rely on their attack once again to try and come out of this.
