Melbourne Victory got back on their feet by winning Newcastle Jets (2-1) after their 2-0 loss vs Adelaide United. Furthermore, they crushed 0-5 Brisbane in the previous Tuesday. Ola Toivonen and Kostas Barbarousis had an excellent performance. Now they are second-placed with 29 points, having four less points than first-placed Perth Glory. Georg Niedermeier, Jai Ingham, Nick Ansell, as well as team's star Keisuke Honda are injured. They will do their best  tonight,so as to play in the big clash vs Sydney next week without a defeat on their bag. 

Wellington Phoenix are still undefeated after 8 concecutive games, having 3 draws and 5 wins. These results placed them higher on the table and closer to playoffs.
