Chelsea vs Crystal Palace Match Preview

As part of the 4th round of the English Premier League, Chelsea welcomes Crystal Palace.

In the previous round, after an exciting match, Chelsea played a 3-3 draw against West Brom on the road. The first half was a total nightmare for Frank Lampard's team as they found themselves back in the score by 3-0, however, in the second half, they managed to turn things around, equalizing with a late goal at the last minute of the added time. With this single point, Chelsea reached the 9th place in the standings, having 4 points in total.

Midweek, Chelsea was knocked out from the League Cup, playing with a heavy rotation, suffering a defeat in the penalties shootout against Tottenham (1-1 in the regular time).

Last week Crystal Palace suffered their first defeat in the |Premier League, 2-1 to Everton. They did not perform well at all and they were back in the score since the 10th minute of the game. They equalized at the 26th minute but they went to the locker rooms being back again, conceding a goal at the 40th minute by a penalty kick. In the second half, they tried to find the equalizer once again but failed to create chances on target, and as a result, they left empty-handed from the field.

After this outcome Crystal Palace remained at 6 points after 3 rounds played in the league, sitting in the 6th position of the standings.

Chelsea wants to return to winning ways, after being for two games without a win, and today's is their chance, against an opponent that is certainly far inferior to them. I expect a great performance from the hosts, but the fact that they concede goals with ease leads to reconsider my pick.
