Chelsea vs Valencia Match Preview

This game is for the 8th group of the UEFA Champions League 2019-20, Ajax and Lille are participating too.

On Saturday night, Chelsea registered a huge 5-2 win over Wolves on the road, being clearly the superior side. This outcome is another sign of improvement, after the average beginning of Frank Lampard's team that is set to play with many youngsters this season, as they are banned from signing players until the end of January 2020. After their disappointing 0-4 loss in their opening game to United, they have been undefeated for four consecutive games in the Premier League (2-2-0). Defender Kante will not be available for another match, on the contrary, Rudiger and Pedro are 100% fit now.

Valencia sacked their coach during the International break. Marcelino is no longer on the bench of the 'bats' and Albert Celades, ex-manager of the U21 National team of Spain, is their new manager. However, he has no experience in this level and Balencia show no improvement in the 5-2 loss to Barcelona last Saturday.

Neither Chelsea nor Valencia impressed me in the beginning of the season, however, I give slight hopes to the guests having seen their performance last weekend. The Europa League Champions, Chelsea, have the upper hand, and I expect from the 'Blues' to profit from their home advantage making a good start, in a group who seems to be a close race for all four teams. Home win is my call.
