Chievo finished the regular season at the 5th spot, securing the play offs for promotion and now have the advantage to play the quarter finals at home. They were rolling a bad run of four games without a win, but luckily for them they bounced back winning the last three games in a row.

While doing this they scored six goals and conceded just one, managing to keep a clean sheet in two occasions. Their strongest side has been while playing at home this season and in the last ten games they won six and lost just three. They have also history on their side as they didn't lose any of the last five home games against Empoli.

Empoli, on the other hand, finished the regular season at the 6th spot. They come not in the best run as they won two and lost three from the last five matches. A win in the final week against a poor team like Livorno and the advantage on head to head matches against Pisa, helped them finish in the play off zone.

But they had less points than Chievo and scored fewer goals while conceding more. The two h2h games between them earlier this season ended both in 1-1 draw and surely I do not see Empoli winning a crucial game like this now.

In conclusion, I think Chievo can win this match or it can end in a draw. Their current form is better, especially while at home, and this is going to be a big boost for them. Also they haven't lost at home against Empoli in the last 12 games, collecting five wins and seven draws. Empoli did good to reach the play offs but I think they lack quality to compete for promotion to Serie A.
