Croatia is more qualified

There are many ways to win a football game. Russia knew they couldn't have the possesion of the ball more than Spain, nor create more chances. Their plan was to perform for 120' and compete for the qualification at penalty shootout. And so they did, with goalkeeper Akinfeev proving to be more effective than De Gea. We may see a similar approach tonight from Russian Coach, who did not hesitate to leave almost all of his attackers on the bench and start the game against Spain with five defenders. Dzagoev is 100% fit but will start from the bench once again, like Smolnikov who served his punishment. There is no reason for M.Fernandes to be replaced since he was one of the top players against Spain.

Croatia's quality is undeniable, but I cannot say that they are hot favorites for the tournament's gold medal. Their performance against Denmark proved that they can be eliminated from any team. They didn't have the upper hand against an average team, neither they played their passing game. Croatians qualified at penalty shoot out, where they seemed to be more lucky and capable. 

I am expecting to see a better performance from Croatia this time, against the weakest team of the last '8'. Russia will focus on stopping their opponents from playing football once again, rather than create for themselves. Croats, in contrast to Spaniards, have the long shots in their game and I think that they will eventually break the host team's defense, with no the extra half time or penalty needed. Croatia's win would be my call.
