Defensa y Justicia vs Independiente Match Preview

Defensa y Justicia had a rought start in the league with a 0-3 heavy defeat in the oppening game against Colon de Santa Fe. In the second round, they traveled to Cordoba sharing points with the local team Central Cordoba, with a final score of 2-2. Both sides played well and created many chances but the defenders did their job well and this draw administered justice. After these results, the win tonight is a one way path here for Defensa in order to remain at the top-duo of the standings.

Hernan Crespo's formations are usually based on the attack and I expect the same approach here against Independiente. Their only missing for tonight's match is the injured midfielder Insaldo. In the following round they will face Colon de Santa Fe, while they will play midweek against Vasco da Gama for Copa Sudamericana.

On the other hand, Independiente won their first game in the league against Central Cordoba by 1-0 on the road. In the 2nd round, they drew 1-1 against Colon de Santa Fe at home, in a match where they got very lucky as Colon missed a big chance to score with a penalty kick in the added time. Lucas Pusineri's team has shown how weak their attack can be against really defensive teams like Colon de Santa Fe. 

Today against Defensa things are quite different, as I expect both sides to play offensive football. The only important missing for Lucas Pusineri's side is the injured goalkeeper Sebastian Sosa, who l saved the penalty at the 96th minute in the previous round against Colon and gave the point to his team.

I expect Defensa y Justicia to focus on the attack as usual, and seek their first three-pointer of the season. On the other hand, Independiente seems to struggle a lot against defensive teams but now things are different and their chances are almost equal. Over 2,5 goals to be scored is my call, offered at decent odds.
