Dudelange vs Pyunik Yerevan Match Preview

Dudelange has got a golden chance to reach the third qualifing round of the UEFA Champions League qualifiers for the first time in their history. They started their campaign against KF Tirana which were the champions of Albania and took care of them on both duels. First, they won 1-0 at home ground and after that, they even beat them 1-2 on the road in a game where they were leading 0-2 which means they controlled the game for most of the time.

In the first leg against Pyunik, they got a precious 0-1 win on the road in a balanced game where they played pretty good and you could say they were even unlucky as they hit the post twice in the first half. Now in front of their fans, they will have to administer that results and try to advance to the next stage.

Pyunik Yerevan, on the other hand, started the campaign in a very impressive way as they got past a much superior CFR Cluj team. After a 0-0 draw at home, they managed to snatch a 2-2 draw on the road where they were twice down one goal but managed to equalize in the final minutes. Then they got luckier during the penalty shot out and earned a ticket for the next stage.

Judging by the performances in these matches I think they have a decent team but they lack quality in the offense. And in a game where they will need to attack more than their rivals, I think this could be a problem for them considering they will leave spaces behind and might get punished.

In conclusion, I think Dudelange can manage to win this game or get at least a draw. They have a big advantage having won the previous duel and could play a calmer game for a draw. I think if they play well defensively and make quick counterattacks they can prevail again in this second leg. Pyunik has got no other choice than to play an offensive game today but in the end, I do not see them having what it takes to win this game away from home.
