Empoli vs Chievo Match Preview

Empoli face Chievo for the 21st round of the Italian Serie B at the Carlo Castellani Stadium.

Empoli's last win was early December, 2-1 over Ascoli, playing at home. Since then, they couldn't register another win in the following five matches they played, while in the previous round they lost 1-0 to Juve Stubbia at home. These bad results placed Empoli pretty low in the standings. They are currently placed at the 16th place with just 23 points, pretty low for the quality of their roster. Another home game, against Crotone, will follow for the 22nd round of Serie A. Empoli has a lot of missings today, but I think they won't affect them so much.

On the other hand, Chievo after a bore draw at home against Pescara, they managed to get a great home win against Perugia. With a total of 29 points in the standings, Chievo are trying to stay clear from the relegation zone. Chievo's performances on their away games are very questionable, as they struggle a lot to get positive results.

The hosts have a chance today to return in winning ways. Empoli are the superior side here over Chievo, but they will also have to show it in the pitch to bag all three points. Empoli to win at 2.24 odds is my call in this one.
