Espanyol vs Elche Match Preview

In this match of Spanish La Liga, Espanyol will play at home against Elche. Both of these teams have won their latest matches in Copa del Rey. Espanyol has beaten Ponferradina after penalties and Elche won against Almeria. 

Espanyol is currently in 11th position in the league with 26 points won in 19 matches played. They will try to continue their impressive form at RCDE Stadium. They have lost only one home match this season in the league. That was against Atletico who scored a late winner in stoppage time. They have won in six matches and drew in two also at home. Espanyol won six out of last seven matches at their stadium.Against Elche they never lost at home ground.

Raul de Tomas is once again in fantastic form and he could also score tomorrow. They have some problems with Covid and injuries and will miss three players: Yangel Herrera, Joan Garcia and David Lopez.

Elche is in 17th place in the league with 16 points won in 19 matches. They are not in good form and they have won only one match out of last ten played in the league. They struggle, especially away from home  where they won only one match so far in the season with seven defeats.

They have played already this season against Espanyol and the match finished 2-2. They will miss also a couple of players, including Diego Gonzales, Fidel and Roco.

The last match which these two played this season ended 2-2 as I have already stated. I will go once again with goals in this match. In last six played between these two teams both teams were able to score a goal. Elche has significantly improved in away matches having won three out of last five away matches. They did lose to Barcelona and Valencia but they did not embarrass themselves in these matches. Whenever these two play there are always a lot of goals. I would give a small advantage to home side but still Elche can be dangerous.
