Fortaleza are the favorites

Fortaleza suffered two consecutive losses on the road until they made the comeback with a 2-1 win over Cruzeiro, in their last game before the international break a month ago. Although the game was a close one, Andre Luis (photo) scored a brace for the home team before the end of the half-time. After this outcome, Fortaleza are now two points above the relegation zone, so tonight they are searching for another three-pointer to become even more safer. Midfielder Edinho is still injured, while central defender Ribeiro is suspended.

The 2-0 away loss to Palmeiras was deserved for Avai who weren't competitive at all. They made some decent efforts to create vs one of the most strong homes of the league, but it was more than obvious that their opponent was superior. Avai haven't registered a single win after 9 rounds (0-4-5) so far in Serie A and they are stuck in the rock bottom of the table, having 4 points less than the safety zone. Defenders Alex Silva and Marquinhos Silva aren't 100% fit yet.

The home team have the upper hand tonight and I expect them to win one way or another. Avai are not at all effective in scoring this season and I think that is extremely difficult to avoid another loss in this one. Fortaleza to win at 1.83 is my call, definitely quite decent odds.
