Freiburg vs Juventus Match Preview

Freiburg comes to this game after having lost the first leg but this was not the worst news for them. They were totally dominated by their rivals for the whole 90 mins and in the only shot on target where they scored it was disallowed because of a handball. In the Bundesliga, they are doing pretty well as they are ranked 5th and seem to be headed towards qualifying for the European competitions once again next season.

However, the quality between the teams they have faced and Juventus is huge and we saw it in the first leg. I think defensively they lack what it takes to stop a team like the Italians. In the last five games in their domestic league, they failed to keep a clean sheet in three encounters. Grifo is their best hope for this duel but I do not see how he can do any better from the performance he put on last week.

Juventus, on the other side, could have won the previous game with at least two goals difference but they were unlucky. They created 20 final attempts and had 6 shots on target but scored just once with Di Maria in the second half. For this game, the only problem could be the absence of Chiesa who seems to have a slight problem and might be rested ahead of their important duel in Serie A against Inter.

In attack, Vlahovic should play from the start and I do not expect him to miss all those chances once again if they are presented to him. With Kostic and Cuadrado on the wings he will have plenty of crosses coming in. Coming after a 4-2 win against Sampdoria they have a high morale for this duel and will take their time to administer it without rushing and making mistakes.

In conclusion, I think Juventus can win this match or get at least a draw. They have the advantage of winning the first game and will be happy as long as they avoid defeat. They know they have the quality on their side so they will have to make the most out of the counterattacks since Freiburg will be forced to go up front with many players.
