Hannover vs Regensburg Match Preview

Hannover is ranked at 16th place and comes not in their best shape. They come after a draw and two losses over three matches played until now. In the previous season, they were average as they finished 11th and never got close to the relegation zone. This start has been a little bit disappointing if we consider that during preseason they managed to remain unbeaten in all the friendlies collecting five wins and two draws.

Despite not having the best results so far in 2.Bundesliga, Hannover scored twice in the draws against St. Pauli and respectively 1 and 2 goals in the encounters against Kaiserslautern and Paderborn. Managing to keep Kerk who was their best scorer last year and the addition of Nielsen who already scored twice in three games will offer them more options in attack.

Regensburg, on the other hand, sits at 6th place with 7 points and has started the new season in a great way. They have got two wins and a draw over three duels played. In the last season, they finished one spot above the relegation zone but in reality, they had an eigh-points distance.

Clearly, the team has improved even though it is still early to judge. One important thing is that they have kept their offensive style of football. In three games they scored five goals. Impressively, they managed to keep a clean sheet in each match so far. They too got to keep their best striker from last season as Albers will continue but they lost Besuschkow, who ironically left for Hannover and already provided two assists until now.

In conclusion, I think both teams can score at least one goal. The last time Hannover failed to score at home was back in March and I guess they could be the first team to punish Regensburg, who, on their side, have been doing so well and I also fancy them to score a goal against a defense that has been leading goals all the way.
