Hungary vs Turkey Match Preview

Hungary qualified in the EURO 2021 finals through the play-offs after an amazing comeback in the match against Iceland with 2-1, even if they were back in the score until the 88th minute. Three days later, they shared points against Serbia for the 5th round of the UEFA Nations League, playing rather relaxed. After this draw, Hungary is first-placed in the group with a total of 8 points, alongside Russia who lost in their game, and today's fixture will be decisive for their spot. 

The hosts are currently facing a lot of problems in their team, as many of their important players will miss the game with goalkeeper Gulasci, defenders Lovrencsics, Orban and Korhut, midfielders Dallai, Szoboszlai, Kleinheisler and Patkai as well as the striker Szalai being unavailable.

After 5 rounds in the UEFA Nations League, Turkey finally got their first three-pointer winning over Norway by 3-2 last Sunday in Istanbul. In the last 4 rounds, S. Gunes's team got 3 draws and 1 defeat.

Turkey showed a lot of improvement in the match against Russia, scoring a total of 3 goals and I expect them to continue at the same pace here. Hungary got a huge motivation boost after their second consecutive EURO qualification and I think that this will help them a lot in the pitch today against Turkey.
