Italy vs England Match Preview

The final game of the European Championship 2020 has finally arrived and Italy will try to end this amazing campaign they had with the crowning as Champions. Even in the semi-final against Spain, they played very well despite trailing on ball possession but the thing is both teams had their chances. And if it weren't for that moment of distraction where they conceded a goal the game could have ended in regular time.

For the final, the lineup should be the same with Bonucci - Chiellini in the back and if they repeat the performances they had against Belgium and Spain I see troubles ahead for England's offensive side. In the flanks, we should see against Di Lorenzo after Spinazzola got injured and Emerson. In midfield which is also one of their strongest points should play from the start the trio Verratti - Barella - Jorginho and once again I think they can play a crucial role in the outcome of the match. In attack Chiesa is expected to play from the start as he had just some cramps against Spain. Alongside him, we should see also Insigne and Immobile.

England managed to qualify against Denmark in a highly contested game after getting a penalty kick filled with doubts. In general, they played slightly better than Denmark but things could have gone in a different way considering there were only five minutes left before the end of extra time.

For them, the best news is that there are no injury reports and Southgate is expected to play with the same lineup as in the last duel. In defense we should see the duo Stones - Maguire backed up by Walker and Shaw as the latter has been having an amazing campaign. In front of the defense should play once again Phillips and Rice trying to offer more coverage on the back during the fast Italian counters. Harry Kane will lead the attacking line with the support of Sterling - Mount - Saka which means Sancho is going to sit out the final.

In conclusion, I think Italy can manage to win this match or get at least a draw. It is true both teams are unbeaten until now but Italy has proven to be more consistent in my eyes and like I have said before they do not have the big names England might have but as a whole team, they are rock solid. England has a lot of pressure coming up to this final as they are seen as favorites by the bookies. Italy to win or draw is my final call.
